About Steven W. Shaw

Steven W. Shaw has an extremely diverse background which gives him an edge in dealing with legal matters and in being able to connect to the jury in a very personal way.

Steven W. Shaw is the principal in the SHAWLAW PLLC, located in Clinton, Utah. His practice is focused on Insurance Bad Faith Litigation, and to a lesser extent, on Real Estate and Corporate/Business Law. He has litigated in ten (10) states, has practiced in Tribal Courts, Federal Courts, U.S. Tax Court, U.S. Court of Claims,U.S. Fourth, Eighth and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He served for eight years on the Board of Directors of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association, and was one of four who created the Trial Attorney Specialist designation in Idaho. He was the Idaho State representative to the Nationwide Breast Implant Class Action in Alabama. He tried a number of multimillion dollar cases on Insurance Bad Faith and Real Estate while in California. One trial lasted eight months (including recesses). He was lead trial counsel for a business law firm in Silicon Valley (Maynard & Hogan). He also spent many years in the following capacities: as lead in-house counsel for an accounting firm in Oakland, California (West Accounting), as partner and general counsel for a multi-state Property Management Company (Aapex) in Hayward, California, and as Senior Counsel to a Real Estate Development Company in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Shaw has published over 20 legal articles or books, has been a speaker at as many legal seminars (state and nationwide), and has been a guest on several radio programs. He earned his bachelor's Degree from Brigham Young University and his Doctorate in Jurisprudence from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, where he participated on the Jessup International Moot Court.
